Effects of Uniconazole on the Drought Resistence of Pilea Cadierei 2 . Physiological Changes and Drought Resistence

Abstract

|
|
This study was conducted to determine the effect of Uniconazole (UNZ) on the physiological changes and drought resistence of Pilea cadierei. The results were summarized as follows ; Drought resistence and plant recovery from wilting increased by UNZ treatment. The contents of total sugar and amino acid increased gradually after water stress. But 10 days after UNZ treatment, total sugar content in young leaves was lower than control, while higher in old leaves. The activity of GA- and IAA-like substances decreased, but ABA-like substances increased by UNZ treatment.
